I currently run a 2 popular proxy sites. Combined, they recieve about 500k pageviews / day.
I run them on a dual xeon 3.0 box with 2gb ram, and frequenly my load jumps up to about 25-30, slowing everything down to a crawl. The ram never gets used up, but my processing power goes pretty quickly.
I run cgiproxy for both of them (the market they target needs to be able to fill out forms to login to a site). Does anyone else out there run a proxy site and know of some tips to reduce the load on them? Any advice would be great.More Information:
