My web page appears different in IE!

    Hi,

I am new to this forum and also to web designing. I created a web page but it appears different in IE. It is working in Firefox. Can anyone please help me with this problem. The link is www.olympicsupport.com

    Thanks a lot.
    More Information:
    1. Setting IE7 temporary files to 'Check for newer versions every time I visit the web page' seems like the only way to ensure that the Flash file
    2. 6 and Coral IE Tab did not work on my PC
    3. htc into the web folder then add below command with the page header
    4. The images look great when I view them in IE7 from my hard drive, but once I upload them to the web server, they appear fuzzy
    5. When I open up a web page, I point my mouse over what should be a hyperlink
    6. When the user visits a web site and mouses over an image that meets particular requirements, the My Pictures hovering toolbar will appear after one half second
    7. ie, ii) Go to your My Account page, iii) Click on My Business Listings
    8. Every time you start Internet Explorer - Internet Explorer checks for new information on your first visit to a web page, but not on subsequent visit
    9. Start with a home page that loads quickly, a brief explanation of what your site is about and some navigation butons to move around the site
    10. Check the ' Ignore colours specified on web page ' checkbox with the mouse or by pressing ' Alt'+'C ' as shown in Fig 2

Well, the first thing you might want to try doing is using VALID HTML... because:

Body > table > h1... where's the TR and TD?

Table for a single td - WHY?

Table for your menu - which should probably be a list, multiple classes inside a table that has a class - inlined presentation on the table. Extra DIV around a table for no good reason... which also appears to be a single table-data so there's no good reason to even be USING a table there...

    /FAIL//FAIL//FAIL//FAIL//FAIL//FAIL//FAIL//FAIL//FAIL/

You've got easily 30-50% more HTML for this layout than is needed - and that's before I even look at the CSS... the rendering issue in IE though seems to be a result of the classic 'double margin' bug making your columns too wide... Which is wierd that you are using so many tables for no reason instead of just the one table to make your columns.

If i have time later I'll toss your page into one of my 'normal' templates so you can see what I mean.
    More Information:
    1. When CityDesk publishes the web page, it converts it to UTF-8 encoding, which has been well supported by web browsers for many years
    2. Hello, I have a website that I am trying to access that keeps coming up "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
    3. In my testing, I found that most pages worked fine with the standard (new) mode, and that most errors were minor cosmetic ones
    4. By caching a web page, Drupal does not have to construct the page each time it is viewed
    5. asp My opinion is a brain-dead badger could make a compatible web site
    6. The first page of my website has no css style in Internet Explorer but all subsequent pages do
    7. Hi, I added the Firebug Bookmarklet to my Links again (from near the top of this page), and using IE7, I now get: [BLANK]
    8. js, so my first instinct is to always include IE8
    9. If you click on a hyperlink in a web page and only a blank window appears,
    10. Simply type the address of the web page you'd like to use, for example: http://www

    Hahahahahahaha.

divz2, your HTML should only describe what your content is, not how it looks. Leave that to the CSS. If you find yourself forced to put visual direction or tables for non-tabular data in the HTML, you're making extra work for yourself when a more elegant, semantic solution is probably available.
    More Information:
    1. Every time you visit a Web page, IE6 caches (temporarily stores in a local folder) a copy of it in the History folder
    2. I have WIN VISTA and IE 7, i constantly get problems every other time i access the browser to view a webpage, and it just looks like my internet connection
    3. This happens if a particular font (used by the web page) is missing from the system
    4. But my IE is still refusing to close and the problem solution finder redirects me to this page as Skype is the guilty one
    5. Typing the letters of the Web page name will winnow down the thumbnails
    6. When you view a web page that you have visited before in the same Internet Explorer session, Internet Explorer uses cached temporary Internet files instead

Ok, going through it now - you may also want to try putting your LI's inside a LIST, isntead of inside a

, your header menu has all sorts of wierd layout issues (not centering except at 1600x1200), and you might want to ease up on the goofy graphic fonts and instead composite the actual text over the images client side.

More to come as I go through it.
