This ran through my mind while writing a doc, may be dumb one.
I have seen people using the terms Microcode and Firmware in IBM system p world interchangeably.
Firmware update or microcode update
Is that right? Are they synonyms?More Information:
- I've even re-cut the firmware from my windows driver, but to no avail
- Really, it's simpler just to put the microcode in a separate mtd partition and let our kernel code load it automatically
- Codeness develops firmware and microcode for a variety of platforms including ARM MIPS ADI TI mobile phone systems GSM GPRS Edge bootstrapping firmware
- Simple Boot Flag at 0x7a set to 0x1 > cpu0(2) debug files 120 > cpu1(2) debug files 120 > platform microcode: firmware: requesting intel-ucode/06-17-0a >
- The patch is microcode (firmware for a CPU, so to speak) to help work around or fix some of the bugs that the Core 2 Duo has
- bin phy1 -> rt2x00lib_request_firmware: Error - Failed to request Firmware
- Priority:-1 extents:1 across:950264k > SELinux: initialized (dev binfmt_misc, type binfmt_misc), uses genfs_contexts > microcode: CPU0 sig=0xf29, pf=0x4, revision=0x0 > platform microcode: firmware: requesting intel-ucode/0f-02-09 > type=1400 audit(1252857189
