    Chrome Beta Update

Chrome beta update lands with security and performance tweaks.

Google has announced the availability of Chrome 03.154.9, a beta release that fixes several security bugs and brings several other performance and usability improvements. Google will deploy the new version through its automated update channel, but users who want to get it now can select the update option from Chrome's About dialog.

A security vulnerability that enabled malicious web sites to spoof their addresses in popup windows has now been patched. The bug, which was reported by security researcher Liu Die Yu, could have been used to make phishing schemes look more credible to victims, but there is no evidence that it has been used in the wild. Google has also changed the behavior of file downloading to help protect users from malware. When users attempt to download an executable, the browser will display a prompt, warning the user that the program could damage their computer.

But use Firefox 3.0.4 as my main browser. (With Stylish to make it look like Chrome Tabs on top.)

Wish they would fix the min, max, and at least close buttons on Chrome so that they work!!!! Have to right click on top bar to get menu..

Not to start a browser war, but Chrome has been updated again, I prefer Iron over Chrome (it takes Chrome and removes the Google snooping) and The latest Opera 10 Alpha 1 is the first browser to hit 100 on the Acid3 tests.

I like Fx better, and a new reason was just pushed to me - with Fx's profiles, which I keep on a separate disk, I can always install Fx in a new install, run it with the -ProfileManager switch and force it to use my profiles on a separate disk - which helps with me not having to friggin install everything again from scratch. (Mozillians, never fear, I perform a fresh from scratch install ever six months just in case). However, with Opera, you have to run it the first time, and then you can setup the profile in a different directory. Sure, it has a commandline option to *load* a different profile, but with Fx I don't need to use a commandline option but once - because it loads a GUI to allow me to permanently set up a different profile, with location and name as I see fit.
