    CD player/writer

Archived from groups: microsoft.public.windowsxp.device_driver.dev (More info?)

The CDplayer/writer came as a part of my HP Pavilionx1848

which had Windows ME. After upgrading to XP, my

player/writer no longer works. I checked hardware and

found I have the drivers, but they evidently are not

activated through XP. Will I have to go ahead and change

back to ME to be able to copy CD's on my writer? I'm not

sure I would be able to do that (I'm not too computer

smart!) Would deeply appreciate any help you can give an

    old 81 year old lady.

    More Information:
    1. With our program, you can listen your favoriate MP3 or WAV songs on regular stereo, car CD players, and so on

    6. This review is from: Harman Kardon CDR 2 CD Player/Recorder (Electronics)
    7. To make a photo slide show CD, you need some hardwares: CD Burner, CD-R or CD-RW disc
    8. Burn audio files to data DVD/CD to backup them or burn MP3 files so that you can play it on your stand-alone MP3 player
    9. This extremely easy-to-use and versatile software supports almost all CD Writer features such as PLS

Your Pavilion probably came with EasyCD Creator v4 or an early version of v5

which is not supported under XP. I did try to see what exactly it was

shipped with at the HP website but there is no model called 1848 listed.

If it did come with v4, this is NOT compatible with XP and should have been

removed prior to upgrading. If it came with an early v5, there are updated

components available at the Roxio website... www.roxio.com
