    Can't hit www.netflix.com - Am I doing something wrong?

    I tried about a month ago and got the ubiquitous "The page cannot be displayed" screen in my IE. Tonight, I tried again, same thing. Am I doing something wrong or is this just a big coincidence?

    1. Tell me if I am doing something wrong: - I set up the Netflix player remote using the learn command (I set it up as a PVR 2)
    2. But after 3 months I can definitely say something is wrong
    3. Meanwhile, Netflix continues to offer no late fees and welcomes wrong Blockbuster patrons with open arms!

    You know what I think it is? Probably an entry in my HOSTS file. I'm going to check it out right now.



    Edit: Yep, that was it. I downloaded an extensive HOSTS file some time ago and there were a couple entries with netflix:



    127.0.0.1 image.netflix.com

    127.0.0.1 www.netflix.com



    I commented them out:



    # 127.0.0.1 image.netflix.com

    # 127.0.0.1 www.netflix.com



    Now I can hit it. Thanks!



    Wonder why they did that? Is Netflix considered a door to spam or something?
