Can't Find Ethernet Driver (please help)

Okay, so I just installed Windows 7 this morning. The installation went very smooth. I love my new windows! However, I cannot connect to the internet, nor hear anything because I don't have correct drivers for my Ethernet or Audio Cards. Here are some pics that might help you smart people solve my problem. (see attatchments)

1. i have compaq presavrio v6000 i just formated it and i was looking for the network drivers on the net but i can't find it can u please help me find it

Hello AreoX Welcome to SevenForums. What is the make and model number of the computer that you have WindowSeven installed on. You will need to load a driver for your pc to get online.

Hi AreoX, and welcome.


The fact that you are seeing & indeed posting on this forums is some good news. Do you not have any installation disks at all? They could be XP or Vista it doesn't matter. Unfortunately the images don't give enough info for us to help 100%, make & model of some discription would be great.

1. According to what I can find on the net about that motherboard, it has a 3Com 10/100 ethernet integrated
2. You can google the makes on models and usually find drivers and information
3. com/drive… And you also try this site if you can't find it on dell
4. Also you can see related drivers at every download page
5. normaly you can go to the manufacturer website and get the drivers you need for your model pc

im not exactly sure what it is. My motherboard a Gigabyte S series, and the Ethernet card (i'm pretty sure) is made by NVIDIA. My computer was custom built by a friend so I don't have the Make/Model.


My Motherboard came with 2 disks with drivers, the first says NVIDIA GeForce 6100/nForce.It has the drivers for Audio, Network, and Serial ATA on them, however it is made for Vista and I tried to install them, it didnt' work.


The Second has Drivers for NVIDIA Chipset, Serial ATA, RAID, Network and Audio. However this is made for Vista as well.


I switched over to WinSeven from WinXP, so I have the OS CD's for Windows XP Professinal as well as Home edition. I could access a Vista CD from school too if that helps, Orbital Shark asked. Thanks again for the quick replies and let me know if you need more information, I will try to obtain it.


EDIT: I am posting here from my laptop, so I do have the ability to access the internet to download the drivers when I know where and how.

1. It seems that Windows can't find my ethernet cable
2. Automatically find and update drivers with Intel® Device Update Utility
3. Properly installed network driver -- This guide can be used to troubleshoot driver installation to see if it is properly functioning
4. After this step, you can install your drivers anyway you'd like
5. My electric went out the other day and when my computer started back up it said I needed to install the ethernet controller driver

7. Download the latest drivers faster than before and find out about fresh updates
8. I tried getting them from their website and anywhere else, but i can't find it
