Hello,javascript:emoticon(':?')

Confused

I really need some help please before I go nuts.

Installed Vista, kept XP...so I dual boot.

Both OS's work fine.

However when I reboot I need to KEEP my Vista DVD in the drive or else my PC can't find the OS and therefore the bootloader. It is just stuck in "DOS" with that message on the screen.

I tried to fix the MBR via various tools (Vista DVD boot, repair, command prompt method etc no success.

Again, once booted it all works. Just have to keep the DVD in the drive.

Interesting also I just keep the DVD in, I don't boot the DVD.

So I suppose the PC finds a file on the DVD which I don't have on my PC for some reason?

Any suggestions how I can get VISTA to find the Drive and the OS system disk??

thanks a lot for any good tips
