Can a HD be mounted in any orientation?

Usually people mount the HD flat, and never upside down.



Will mounting the hd sideways or upside down effect the preformance or damage the HD in any way?

More Information:

Sideways presents no problems, or at least that I heard off since many companies offer external hard drive encloures that are designed to mount sideways...



Upside down, never tried it... I wouldn't think it causes a problem, but I'm an EE, not a ME...
