account is being disabled...

alright, somehow my account is being disabled due to wrong configuration on the group the user belongs to. how am i able to solve the issue here? can i boot linux to the command line format and then log in as a super user to delete my account and create a new one?

or there is other methods available?? thanks!

sorry guys! alright here's what happened...

for every user, they belongs to a specific group. what i did is i add my account to the group "root". after which i rebooted the computer. @ the GUI login screen, i typed in my username & password, but the OS prompted me telling me that my account has been disabled and asked me to contact my system administrator, in this case, me myself.

now i'm lookin for a way to delete my current account and create another new account using the Super User mode. i can't log in using my current account.

First off - why would you need to reboot the computer??? The ONLY time linux would require a reboot is a kernel change.

How did you add your user to this group? Is this your only group, or are you members of other groups? What distro are you using? What tool/command are you using to do what you say?? What is the password on the account? Depending on alot of things - I could see how I would want an account disabled that was attempted to be added to the root group - if password did not meet specific criteria, etc..
